Family-Sized Kitchen
The scope of the project was a family room addition, creating an open floor plan kitchen and dining room by removing walls, and adding a mudroom by widening the back hall.
In regards to home improvement, the following features had a dramatic impact on this family gathering space:
1) the kitchen remodel included a long island to accommodate the entire family, oriented to catch a game on TV or visit with guests while preparing a meal;
2) the family room is completely heated by a furnace-grade high efficiency fireplace; and
3) the windows were sized and oriented to maximize views and maintain privacy.
Planning a home addition and kitchen remodel can be daunting, and remaining on budget and on time is always a concern. Dan removed all of those worries from the beginning keeping us updated weekly. He was respectful of our budget-suggesting ways to keep on target, never trying to up sell us.
